  • The first English One Piece Card Game booster was OP-01 Romance Dawn in December 2022.
  • The newest main English booster listed by Bandai as of July 2026 is OP-16 The Time of Battle, released June 12, 2026.
  • There are 16 main English booster sets so far, from OP-01 to OP-16, plus extra boosters (EB), premium boosters (PRB), starter decks (ST) and promos (P).

The One Piece Card Game launched in Japan in July 2022 and in English in December 2022. Since then, Bandai has released the game through main booster sets, smaller extra boosters, premium reprint boosters and starter decks. This guide focuses on booster products — the sets collectors search for when identifying cards or comparing sealed boxes. Use the tables to identify which set a card comes from, the exact release order, and how the Japanese and English schedules line up. For live release timing and UAE/GCC availability, see our TCG Release Calendar.

How to read a One Piece card code. A code like OP07-051 means the card is number 051 from OP-07. The prefix tells you the product family: OP = main booster, EB = extra booster, PRB = premium booster, ST = starter deck, and P = promo.

Japanese vs English One Piece releases

Same game, different timing

Japanese One Piece sets historically released ahead of the English versions, which is why Japanese booster boxes often appear in the market first. English sets then followed later — sometimes with changed product structure, exclusive Treasure Rare cards (introduced in OP-07) or combined card pools. OP14-EB04 and OP15-EB04 are the clearest example: the English releases absorbed Japan’s EB-04 material instead of giving EB-04 its own English booster box.

From OP-17 onward, Bandai is moving One Piece toward worldwide simultaneous booster releases. That matters for collectors because the old pattern — Japanese boxes first, English boxes months later — becomes less reliable. Gameplay is the same across languages, but official event rules can depend on the tournament region and language policy. As a simple rule: Japanese boxes are usually better for early collecting and lower-cost sealed collecting; English boxes are usually better for local play, easier resale and reading every card without translations. We stock English and Japanese sealed side by side — always check the box language and set code before buying.

Which One Piece sets should beginners buy?

Collector or player?

For sealed collectors, the safest entry point is usually a recent English main booster box or a premium booster: recent boxes are easier to authenticate, easier to compare by price and more relevant to current players. For players, start with a starter deck and then use booster boxes or singles to upgrade the deck you actually want to play — our beginner’s guide covers how the game works.

For collectors, OP-01, OP-05, OP-09 and anniversary sets tend to attract the most attention because they contain major characters, iconic art or milestone status. That does not automatically make every box a good buy — price still matters. A popular set bought too high can be worse than a quieter set bought at a fair price.

One Piece set list — FAQ

How many One Piece Card Game booster sets are there?
As of July 2026, there are 16 main English booster sets, from OP-01 Romance Dawn to OP-16 The Time of Battle. There are also extra boosters, premium boosters, starter decks and promo products.
What is the newest English One Piece booster set?
The newest main English booster listed by Bandai as of July 2026 is OP-16 The Time of Battle, released June 12, 2026.
What was the first One Piece Card Game set?
The first main booster was OP-01 Romance Dawn. It launched in Japan in July 2022 and in English in December 2022.
What do OP, EB, PRB and ST mean?
OP means main booster set, EB means extra booster, PRB means premium booster, ST means starter deck and P means promo. In a code like OP07-051, OP07 is the set and 051 is the card number.
Why does my box say OP14-EB04 or OP15-EB04?
That’s normal. English OP-14 and OP-15 include material from Japan’s EB-04 Egghead Crisis, so the box uses a combined code instead of a standalone English EB-04 product.
Are Japanese and English One Piece sets the same?
They are closely related but not always one-to-one. Japanese products often released earlier, English sets may include Treasure Rares, and some English products combine card pools differently. Always check the box language and set code before buying.
Should I collect Japanese or English One Piece cards?
Choose English if you want easier local play, easier card reading and simpler resale in English-speaking markets. Choose Japanese if you like the earlier release timing, Japanese sealed collecting or lower entry prices on some products.
