Sell or Trade Your Collection

It depends on the item and its condition. As a guide: sealed product up to 90% of market value in store credit (up to 80% cash); Pokémon and English One Piece singles and slabs up to 85% credit (up to 75% cash). Japanese One Piece singles are the exception, valued per card at roughly 60–70% because Collectr doesn't price them reliably. Remember singles and slabs are Pokémon and One Piece only — sealed we buy across every game we stock. Every offer is itemised.

Yes, from November. We'll run in-person valuations on fixed days, posted on this page. Stefan does every valuation himself, so those are the days to come if you'd like to wait while he goes through your items. Can't make one of those days, or don't want to wait? Drop your collection off any time the shop is open — we note down what you leave, Stefan goes through it, and we get back to you with an offer.

No. We only buy from sellers inside the UAE, by email or in person at the shop.

For singles and slabs we buy Pokémon and One Piece only. Slabs must be graded by PSA or BGS / Beckett — no other grading companies. Raw singles should be Near Mint to Lightly Played with condition disclosed honestly, and we don't take singles from sets released in the last couple of months. Sealed product we buy across all the games we stock.

For roughly the first two months after a set releases, single-card prices keep falling as people open packs and supply floods in. Buying then would mean paying today for cards worth less next week, so we wait until prices settle before taking singles from a new set. Sealed product from new sets is fine — this only applies to singles.

Collectr — the pricing source we and most collectors rely on — doesn't track Japanese One Piece singles accurately, so we can't use it for them. We value those per card instead, which usually lands around 60–70% of true market value depending on the card. Everything else follows our standard rates.

Store credit pays a higher percentage because it keeps your collection growing with us, and it's issued instantly once we verify your items. Cash pays a little less and is sent by bank transfer. You can also split a deal between the two — just tell us what you'd prefer.

Collectr is a free app that lets you catalogue your cards and sealed product with their current market values. A shared portfolio link lets us see exactly what you have and value it at a glance, which means a faster and more accurate offer. If you don't use Collectr, a spreadsheet or clear photos with set, card, condition and quantity works too.

Email the details to info@playvault.ae with the subject "SELL — Your Name", or, from November, bring the items into the shop. Once we agree an offer and verify condition in hand, you're paid — store credit instantly, or cash by bank transfer. We don't ask for large cash hand-overs.

Possibly, but as an independent store we buy selectively rather than writing one huge cheque. For big or high-value collections we'll usually suggest cherry-picking the highlights, buying in stages, or taking it on consignment — where we sell it for you and you keep a larger share of the final price. We aim to reply to complete email submissions within 2–3 business days. Submissions that are missing the required details, or sent by social-media DM rather than email, take longer or may not be assessed — so please use email and include everything in the checklist.

The offer is based on the condition you describe and is confirmed once we inspect the items in person. If everything matches, the offer stands. If the condition differs from what was stated, we may revise or withdraw it — so describing your items accurately is the best way to avoid surprises.
