Gothic "The Prophets of Doom" Preconstructed Deck Set (4 Decks)
The Sorcery: Contested Realm Gothic Prophets of Doom Preconstructed Deck Set contains all four Gothic preconstructed decks in a single box — Necromancer, Harbinger, Persecutor, and Savior — and is the fastest and most complete way to start playing Sorcery: Contested Realm Gothic straight out of the box. No deck-building required, no booster packs needed. Open the box, choose your Avatar, and play.
The Prophets of Doom is described by Erik's Curiosa as "the game in the box" — meaning all four decks are designed to play against each other directly, providing immediate competitive replay value from the moment you open the product. Each deck is dual-element, meaning it uses two of Sorcery's elemental systems simultaneously, which opens broader strategic options than a single-element deck and reflects Gothic's theme of opposing forces in conflict. Each deck contains a 36-card Spellbook — the main deck of spells, minions, and artifacts — and a 16-card Atlas of Site cards that form the physical grid battlefield, for a total of 52 cards per deck.
The four Avatars at the centre of each deck are the defining collector pieces of this product. Each one features exclusive alternate artwork by Dan Seagrave — one of the most celebrated dark fantasy and heavy metal album cover artists in the world, whose work defined the visual aesthetic of death metal in the 1990s. These alternate art versions of the Necromancer, Harbinger, Persecutor, and Savior are available only in this preconstructed set and are not found in Gothic Booster Packs. For collectors building a complete Gothic card set, the four Dan Seagrave alternate art Avatar cards are among the most visually significant pieces in the entire release.
The four decks and their themes are as follows. The Necromancer raises an endless army of Skeleton tokens from the dead — 1-power Undead creatures that accumulate turn after turn, overwhelming opponents with the weight of an ever-growing horde. The Harbinger calls down omens and curses from dark skies, using prediction and disruption to control the flow of the game before the opponent can act. The Persecutor casts out corruption and accuses the damned, operating as an aggressive accuser that punishes opponents for the cards and creatures they play. The Savior stands as a shield for the innocent, using defensive mechanics and protective spells to outlast and counter everything the opposing Prophets can bring to bear.
Each deck is fully compatible with cards from the Gothic Booster Box and from all previous Sorcery: Contested Realm sets — Alpha, Beta, and Arthurian Legends — making the Prophets of Doom an ideal starting platform to build and customise from as you expand your collection. The product also includes a rules booklet, a token pack, and a storage box.
