Sword & Shield – Vivid Voltage Booster Box | 36 Sealed Booster Packs (SWSH04)
The Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield – Vivid Voltage Booster Display Box (set code: SWSH04) is the 36-pack sealed Booster Box from the fourth main expansion of the Sword & Shield era, released worldwide on November 13, 2020. Vivid Voltage is one of the most iconic and sought-after modern-era Pokémon sets, headlined by Gigantamax Pikachu VMAX, the debut of the Mythical Pokémon Zarude, and the introduction of an entirely new card type — Amazing Rare — featuring Legendary and Mythical Pokémon such as Celebi, Jirachi, Rayquaza and Zapdos in distinctive rainbow-textured artwork. The English set is based on Japan's Amazing Volt Tackle expansion.
For Pokémon collectors, Vivid Voltage is now a vintage sealed product and a long-standing chase set on the secondary market. The headline chase is the Rainbow Rare Secret Pikachu VMAX (#188/185), affectionately known as "Chonkachu," one of the most recognisable and valuable modern Pokémon cards, with PSA 10 graded copies regularly trading in the four-figure range. Other major pulls include the six Gold Secret Rares — Jirachi, Aerodactyl, Ghetsis, Boss's Orders, Telescopic Sight and Capacious Bucket — the Rainbow Rare Charizard, Togekiss VMAX and Coalossal VMAX, the full-art trainer cards, and the six debut Amazing Rare cards (Celebi, Jirachi, Rayquaza, Reshiram, Zacian and Zapdos). The set totals 203 cards including 185 main-set cards and 18 secret rares (12 Rainbow Rares and 6 Gold Cards).
For Pokémon TCG players, Vivid Voltage was a landmark Sword & Shield set when it released, with Pikachu VMAX and Togekiss VMAX, alongside the new Amazing Rare cards, all seeing extensive competitive play during the Sword & Shield era. While the Sword & Shield block has rotated out of Standard, Vivid Voltage cards remain legal in the Expanded format and are widely used in casual play, cube and personal collection builds.
