The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet — Temporal Forces Booster Box (set code: SV05) released on 22 March 2024 as the fifth main expansion of the Scarlet & Violet era. It is the set that brought Ancient and Future Pokémon back to the spotlight and, more importantly for players, returned ACE SPEC cards to the game after more than a decade away.

For collectors, Temporal Forces is a deep set. The main run is 162 cards, with Illustration Rares, Special Illustration Rares and gold secret rares pushing well beyond that number. The headline pulls are the Ancient and Future Pokémon ex — Walking Wake ex, Iron Leaves ex, Raging Bolt ex and Gouging Fire ex — alongside sought-after secret-rare trainers and Illustration Rares that have held collector attention long after the set left print.

For players, the ACE SPEC return is the story. Prime Catcher (157/162) became one of the most-played cards of its era — a single-copy trainer that swaps both actives — and Master Ball joined it in the same subset. Only one ACE SPEC is allowed per deck, which is exactly what made opening them feel meaningful. The Ancient and Future mechanics also gave competitive builds a whole new axis to work with.
