The Pokémon TCG: TAG TEAM GX Premium Trainer Box is a Japan-exclusive box tied to the Sun & Moon Tag Bolt (SM9) expansion, released 7 December 2018 — the same day as the set itself. It's long out of print and has appreciated significantly since its original ¥5,000 retail price.

The headline pull is an alternate-art Tapu Lele-GX promo — the same striking alt-art illustration later reused for the Island Guardians-GX Premium Collection — exclusive to this box at the time of release. This was also the first Premium Trainer Box to mix in actual Pokémon cards rather than Trainer and Energy cards alone.

Beyond the booster packs, the box comes packed with a fixed 180-card haul: 23 Pokémon cards (12 unique, including the Tapu Lele-GX), 45 Trainer cards (22 unique), 4 Special Energy, and 108 basic Energy cards (12 of each of the 8 types) — plus a deck box, deck sleeves, a commemorative coin, and the usual damage counters and status markers, all housed in a storage box built to hold up to 650 cards.
