Pokemon TCG: Sword and Shield — Fusion Arts (set code: S8) was released in Japan on September 24, 2021 as the eighth main expansion of the Sword and Shield era. Fusion Arts is the Japanese source set for the English Fusion Strike expansion and marks the debut of the Fusion battle style — the third and final battle style of the Sword and Shield era alongside Single Strike and Rapid Strike. This is an out-of-print set from 2021. Factory sealed booster boxes are no longer available through standard retail channels and are sourced from remaining secondary market stock. The full set contains 129 total cards — 100 main set cards plus 29 secret rares.

Fusion Arts is best known as the set that introduced Mew VMAX — one of the most played and most beloved cards of the entire Sword and Shield competitive era. Mew VMAX's Genome Hacking attack, which copies any attack from a Fusion Pokemon on the bench, made Mew VMAX the centrepiece of one of the most consistent and dominant decks in 2022 Standard format. The deck remained competitive throughout the rest of the Sword and Shield era and into early Scarlet and Violet. Genesect V's Fusion Strike System ability — drawing cards equal to the number of Fusion Pokemon in play — was the engine that powered the archetype, making both cards among the most graded and sought-after Sword and Shield era singles.

The set features Pokemon V and VMAX across the Fusion style including Mew V and Mew VMAX, Genesect V, Greedent V and VMAX, Chandelure V and VMAX, and Boltund V and VMAX. Secret rares include Alternate Art treatments of Mew, Genesect, Greedent, and several full art Trainer cards including the Cilan, Chili and Cress trio and a gold Flaaffy. The Mew VMAX Alternate Art is the standout chase card of the set.

Box contents: 30 booster packs per box. 5 cards per pack. 150 total cards per box. Language: Japanese. All card text is in Japanese. Cards are produced in Japan to Japanese print quality standards. Condition: Factory sealed. Note: this is an out-of-print 2021 set — sealed stock is limited and not expected to be replenished.

Ideal for Mew VMAX collectors, Sword and Shield era competitive deck hunters, and sealed product investors looking for appreciated vintage Japanese boxes from a set with sustained demand. Cards are randomised and specific pulls are not guaranteed. Recommended for ages 6 and up.
