Magic: The Gathering – Tarkir: Dragonstorm Play Booster Box

Magic: The Gathering — Tarkir: Dragonstorm (set code: TDM) is a Standard-legal Magic: The Gathering expansion released on April 11, 2025, returning to Tarkir — one of the most beloved planes in Magic history and home of the iconic five-clan system first introduced in Khans of Tarkir in 2014. Tarkir: Dragonstorm is a direct sequel to that beloved set and to Dragons of Tarkir, completing the Tarkir story arc with a full-scale draconic assault that pits the five clans against a maelstrom of wings, claws, and fire.

The five clans of Tarkir — the Abzan, Jeskai, Sultai, Mardu, and Temur — each align with a three-colour combination and a distinct playstyle, making this one of the most strategically varied sets in recent Standard. Each clan fights alongside their new Spirit Dragon allies in a battle for supremacy over the plane. The clan system makes Tarkir: Dragonstorm one of the most accessible and replayable sets for new Magic players — you pick a clan that fits your personality and playstyle, and it tells you exactly what kind of deck to build. For veteran players: the set introduces a powerful new Dragonstorm mechanic — a returning spell type from Magic's history supercharged with new design — and features a rich cycle of dragon cards across all five clans with strong Limited synergies that reward clan-focused drafting.

The headliner collector card is Mox Jasper — a new entry in Magic's legendary Mox artifact cycle, one of the most historically significant card cycles in the game's 30-year history. The serialized version features exclusive double rainbow foil retro frame artwork by Dan Frazier, the original artist of the iconic Alpha Moxen, with only 500 copies printed. It appears exclusively in Collector Boosters. Play Boosters may also contain Special Guest cards (SPG 104-113) — curated reprints from Magic's history featuring brand new borderless artwork, appearing at mythic rare frequency. Tarkir: Dragonstorm is legal in Standard, Pioneer, Modern, Legacy, Vintage, and Commander.

Box contents: 30 Play Booster packs per box. Ideal for Magic players who loved Khans of Tarkir and Dragons of Tarkir, dragon fans building Commander or Standard decks, competitive players wanting the three-colour clan system in Standard, and anyone looking to chase Mox Jasper in its Play Booster treatments. Cards are randomised and specific pulls are not guaranteed. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Planning for the 2027 rotation? Tarkir: Dragonstorm is a 2025 set, so it stays in Standard when Nauctis: The Sunken Realm releases on 5 February 2027 and the oldest sets rotate out. This box was printed before the 2027 booster changes, so it keeps its original booster configuration and contains no god packs. Our MTG Standard rotation 2027 and god packs guide covers both changes.
