The set introduces five mechanics tied to the animal folk of the Valley. Gift lets you offer opponents a benefit in exchange for a more powerful effect — a risk-reward mechanic reflecting the Valley's community spirit. Offspring lets you pay extra mana when casting a creature spell to also create a smaller copy of it, representing parents and their young. Forage requires sacrificing three Food tokens or exiling three cards from your graveyard to fuel powerful abilities — gathering resources to survive the elemental threat. Valiant triggers whenever a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability you control, rewarding targeted buffs and protection spells. Expend rewards you for spending a cumulative amount of mana in a single turn, scaling in power as your resources grow.

The ten Limited archetypes in Bloomburrow are each built around a two-colour pair and a specific animal folk combination — Blue-White Birdfolk, Black-Green Frogfolk, Red-White Rabbitfolk, and so on — making this one of the most coherently structured draft environments of 2024.
