Secrets of Strixhaven (SOS) Collector Booster Box

Magic: The Gathering — Secrets of Strixhaven Collector Booster Box (set code: SOS) was released on April 24, 2026 alongside the main Secrets of Strixhaven Play Booster set. The Collector Booster Box is the premium format for Secrets of Strixhaven — the product for collectors and players who want the highest concentration of foils, exclusive card treatments, the full Mystical Archive in its most premium form, and access to the set's rarest chase cards. If you want the most visually spectacular Strixhaven cards in the set, Collector Boosters are the only place to find them.

Every single Collector Booster in this box contains 3 to 4 Mystical Archive cards (SOA 1-195) — compared to just 1 per Play Booster. The Mystical Archive is a 195-card bonus sheet of iconic instant and sorcery spells from Magic's history rendered in striking academic showcase frames, and Collector Boosters offer the richest access to this subset in any product. Traditional foil versions of Special Guest cards (SPG 149-158) — powerful reprints depicted as Strixhaven lecture curriculum cards — appear exclusively in Collector Boosters. The Silver Scroll foil treatment — a parchment-like shimmer effect returning from Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth — appears exclusively on Japanese-language Mystical Archive cards in Collector Boosters, making them standout collector pieces regardless of the language you play in.

Every pack contains 5 cards of Rare or higher rarity and 9 to 13 Traditional Foil cards — a dramatically higher concentration of premium cards than Play Boosters. Each pack also includes 1 Full-Art basic land depicting one of the five Strixhaven colleges in their signature Spellcraft Lands treatment.

The headliner chase card is the double rainbow foil serialised Emeritus of Ideation — illustrated by Mark Poole, the original artist of Ancestral Recall, one of the most historically significant cards in Magic's history. Emeritus of Ideation lets you cast Ancestral Recall while it is on the battlefield, and the headliner version features a throwback full-art retro frame directly referencing the iconic original printing. Each copy is individually serialised and always printed in English regardless of the Collector Booster's language. It appears in under 1% of Collector Boosters globally. Borderless and extended art treatments of the set's rares and mythics — bringing the Collector Booster card pool up to 362 cards versus 305 in Play Boosters — also appear exclusively here.

The complete Collector Booster card pool covers SOS 1-271 and 282-362 plus SOC 1-10 and 61-108 (Commander extended arts) plus SOA 1-195 (full Mystical Archive) plus SPG 149-158 (Special Guests).

Box contents: 12 Collector Booster packs. Each pack contains 15 Magic: The Gathering cards. 5 Rare or higher cards guaranteed per pack. 9 to 13 Traditional Foil cards per pack. 3 to 4 Mystical Archive cards per pack. 1 Full-Art Land per pack. Serialised headliner Emeritus of Ideation in under 1% of packs. Traditional foil double-sided token in 65% of packs or Art card in 35% of packs. Language: English. Publisher: Wizards of the Coast. Condition: Factory sealed.

Ideal for Strixhaven collectors wanting the full Mystical Archive in premium foil treatments, Magic players chasing the serialised Emeritus of Ideation and the Silver Scroll Mystical Archive cards, Commander players wanting extended art versions of the five college Commander deck cards, and anyone who wants the most premium opening experience from one of 2026's most celebrated Magic sets. Cards are randomised and specific pulls are not guaranteed beyond the guaranteed Rare and foil floor. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

Planning for the 2027 rotation? Secrets of Strixhaven is a 2026 set, so it stays in Standard when Nauctis: The Sunken Realm releases on 5 February 2027. This is a current-structure Collector Booster box: god packs and the revised Collector Booster contents start with Nauctis, so this box contains no god packs. Our MTG Standard rotation 2027 and god packs guide explains what is changing.
